Room 305 is going on a field trip to the African American History Museum and everyone is excited except Remus because he feels history is boring and unimportant.  Remus begins to act out on the trip which causes him to get separated from the group. As he tries to find his way back, the historical figures in the museum come to life and take him on a journey he’ll never forget.  Some of the historical figures are Shaka Zulu, Madame C.J. Walker, Harriet Tubman, Carter G. Woodson, Alvin Ailey, Josephine Baker, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, and President Obama to name a few.
