L. Maceo Ferris
Maceo Ferris never considered writing as a hobby or artistic outlet and never gave it a try before 2001, and then only as a joke. To his surprise, it was fairly well received and that reception encouraged him to explore writing further. In 2006 and 2007 he attended two forty week playwright workshops at ETA Creative Arts Foundation. That effort produced a play called Reverend Bass Closet. L. Maceo became a member of the Black Ensemble Theater’s Black Playwright’s Initiative (BPI) in the summer of 2011. He has been featured in the Black Ensemble Theater’s BPI festival in 2012 The Diversion of Barbara Jean Williams – musical version, 2013 Savages, 2014 The Price of Corn and 2015 The House of Lancaster.
