Five Play Card The Black Ensemble Theater Five Play Subscription Card allows patrons more flexibility than season tickets and offers a substantial savings off regular season ticket prices. Platinum Card (Good for: Friday 8:00pm, Saturday 8:00pm, Sunday 3:00pm). $292.50 – 10% SAVINGS! Gold Card (Good for: Wednesday 7:30pm, Thursday 7:30pm, Saturday 3:00pm) $247.50 – 10% SAVINGS!

Group Sales Let us plan a special evening for your group. Our lovely upstairs gallery is available for a pre-show reception. • The group discount is available for 10 or more tickets. • Half of the balance due must be paid to secure your seats. • Full payment on all orders is due no later than 2 weeks before the performance. • A group ticket order made within 2 weeks of show date must be paid in full when your order is placed. • Your group is responsible for the total number of tickets on the contract. • There are no refunds or exchanges on any tickets. Will Call Will Call tickets may be picked up one hour before show time. You will need either your confirmation number, the credit card, or a photo ID to pick up tickets.

Late Seating For the consideration of the artist and our patrons, anyone arriving while a performance is in progress will be seated at the discretion of theater management.

Accessible Seating This Facility is fully accessible. Please inform ticket office at time of purchase if special seating requests are needed.

General Rules Cameras or any other recording devices are not permitted into the theater at any time. There is no eating or drinking allowed inside of the theater except in designated areas.

Cancellation Policy All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges on any tickets.

Miscellaneous Black Ensemble Theater ticket orders are filled in order of receipt. Seats are assigned on a best-available basis. Please note that all events in the Studio Theatre are general admission. Tickets may be purchased by cash, MasterCard, VISA, AMEX, or Discover. Telephone reservations will be charged to a credit card at the time of reservation.

Valet / Parking Service Black Ensemble Theater will offer a valet service to park your car. Prices are $10.

Dawn Bless is excited to be a senior member on the BET stage, where 13 years ago she made her professional acting debut, appearing in over two dozen productions and readings. Other theater credits include: Second City Theater, Congo Square Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Porchlight Theater, Theo Unique, Music Theater Works, West Virginia Public Theater, and others. In addition to being an Actor and Singer, Dawn is also a Teaching Artist,  Poet, Director, and Playwright.   Later this season, Dawn looks forward to continuing her writing for an upcoming Jazz musical special with the Second City. She also a member of the comedy duo TOP HEAVY, as well as a founding member of the vocal jazz quartet, The Bronzeville Express.

Cherise is overjoyed to be returning to the Black Ensemble stage. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Columbia College Chicago (c/o 2013). Tour credits: Disenchanted: the Hilarious Hit Musical North American Tour; Chicago credits include: Jeff Award winning Dreamgirls (Porchlight Music Theater) Sounds So Sweet Jeff Nominated Men of Soul, Dynamite Divas, Plays With A Purpose Series (Black Ensemble Theater), and most recently she portrayed the role of Dionne in Hair (Mercury Theater) 
Mantra: "If you can dream it, you can do it!"

Renelle Nicole
Nora/Vivian
Professional actress/singer most recent theatre credits include Last Dancer Standing (BE Theatre) Jesus Christ Superstar (Paramount Theatre) and several Black Ensemble productions. She began her professional acting career at 5yrs old, later starring in her first musical production at American Girls Theatre. TV credits include a recurring role on Empire(Fox), Chicago Fire(NBC), and First Dates(NBC). She proudly received her B.A. from the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She would like to thank Gray Talent, her friends and family for their love & support, and the #VBs. All glory to God!

Kylah Williams

Kylah received her BFA in Acting from Northern Illinois University. She is a senior ensemble member of the Black Ensemble Theater and a proud member of the Actors Equity Association. She has been in numerous Black Ensemble Theater productions throughout the past 15 years. Her recent credits include Mamma Mia! (The Marriott Theatre) and Black Pearl: A Tribute to Josephine Baker (Black Ensemble Theater).

Jessica Brooke Seals

Jessica is an actress and singer from Chicago who has been performing since the tender age of six. Jessica portrayed Cinderella in The Other Cinderella as well as performed in numerous other Black Ensemble productions. She sends a huge thanks to her family and the VB’s for being so supportive. Emily Hawkins

Emily Hawkins is thrilled to be back for her second show with the Black Ensemble Theater. Other credits include productions with Chicago Children's Theatre, The House Theatre of Chicago, Great River Shakespeare Festival, the British American Drama Academy, and backup vocals to Patti LuPone in her recent tour. She received her BFA in Acting from Oklahoma City University. Many thanks to Jackie, Rueben, and the entire LaBelle team!

Linnea Norwood

Linnea Norwood is excited to be performing in another show after completing the Season of Dance here at Black Ensemble Theater. Linnea has trained as a scholarship student at Northern Illinois University. Her training also includes scholarship programs at Hubbard Street Chicago Dance,Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, and soon Joel Hall Dance Center. Linnea would like to thank her friends and family for their continuous support, enjoy the show!

Trequon is excited to return to Black Ensemble Theatre where he was last seen in Hail, Hail Chuck: A Tribute to Chuck Berry.  He is proud alumnus of the Emerging Professional Acting Residency program at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. His regional and Chicago credits include works with Phoenix Theatre, Clarence Brown Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Fireside Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, Emerald City Theatre, The Broadway Playhouse, Chicago Opera Theatre, Congo Square, Haven Theatre, FWD Theatre Project and Court Theatre. Trequon is a proud member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA).

 

Chris Taylor

Chris Taylor is a professional actor. He has recently worked on short film projects, two of which were selected for the Black Harvest Film Festival of Chicago, and the Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles. This is Chris’s third production with the Black Ensemble Theater. He first performed as an understudy for the play “Ain't No Cryin’ The Blues: In Memory of Howling Wolf", the first production of his career. He would would like to thank God for his grace, his family friends for their unconditional support, and his acting mom, Kamesha Khan, for her dedication and assistance in perfecting his craft.

 

Mark Yacullo

Mark is estatic to return to the Black Ensemble Theater stage. Previous credits include: Crowther in The History Boys (Eclectic Full Contact Theatre) and Chip Tolentino in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Madkap Productions). He’s a proud alum of North Central College with a B.A in Theatre Performance. Thanks to his parents, professors and friends for their constant support!
