EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
BE’s educational outreach programs foster more effective teaching and learning among our youth, their parents, their teachers, and the communities in which they live. Our educational outreach programming includes Strengthening The School Through Theater Arts, New Directions, Plays With A Purpose, Theater For Special Women and Men, Summer Job Training for Youth, and Community Access.
BLACK ENSEMBLE THEATER INITIATIVES
COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM
Community Access Program provides thousands of free and discounted theater tickets to over 45 non-profit and social service agencies that serve disenfranchised populations of the Chicagoland area.
35 Chicago Public School classrooms and nearly 1,000 students participate in year-round, in-school program utilizing theater arts to enhance learning, cognitive and social skill development.
Over 100,000 at-risk youth experience live theater that teaches life lessons and basic cognitive skills important for learning and development.
3,000 people impacted by poverty, substance use disorders and/or homelessness receive free or discounted tickets to our productions.
